Soles of Silk - split tree

When Olivia and I got together to take these pictures she was just getting home from a vacation. She had a few hours that evening and I was trying to squeeze in a few more picture sets for the week. These were done during the Hot Feet Week during the summer of 2012.
A few days before we shot these photos a big storm came through the area and trees were knocked down everywhere. When I arrived at the park before Olivia, I began looking at some areas to shoot. I found a picnic bench right next to a tree that had been split right down the middle. I decided to shoot next to it as it was a little bit out of the ordinary.
When Olivia arrived we made our way over to the bench and began shooting. I had her leave her black flip flops on for all you flip flop fans. But when those worn things were kicked off, those slender soles that we've all come to love were on display.
